Outdoor Stair Lifts: Built to Handle Any Climate, Every Season
Rain, snow, heat, or humidity — our exterior stair lifts are engineered for the outdoors. Also called an outdoor stairlift, porch stair lift, or exterior lift, our units are purpose-built for year-round use. Purpose-built for front porches, rear decks, and garage entry steps across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Stay Connected to Every Part of Your Home, Inside and Out
An outdoor stair lift is a purpose-built motorised chair designed to travel up and down exterior staircases safely in all weather conditions. Unlike indoor models, outdoor units use sealed electronics, corrosion-resistant aluminium rails, and UV-stable components to perform reliably through PA and NJ winters and summers alike. With over 10 years of experience, our team has installed exterior lifts on everything from front porch steps to rear deck staircases. If you also need access indoors, we offer straight indoor stair lifts fitted on the same visit.
- You have front porch steps, rear deck stairs, or garage entry steps
- You want to access your garden, yard, or outdoor space independently
- Your outdoor staircase is straight and at least 28 inches wide
- You experience difficulty with steps in wet, icy, or uneven conditions
- You want a lift that stays protected through cold Pennsylvania winters
- Your staircase is indoors — see our straight stair lifts instead
- Your exterior staircase has bends, landings, or turns
- Your steps are narrower than 28 inches
- Your indoor staircase also needs a lift — see our straight stair lifts

Rain, Snow, Heat: It Keeps Going
Every unit we install is purpose-engineered for exterior use. Here is exactly what protects it through every season.
All motors, controls, and wiring are sealed to IP55 — fully protected against water jets from any direction, including driving rain and hose-down cleaning.
Operates reliably from -4°F to 104°F. All mechanical and electrical components are tested for winter conditions including freezing temperatures and ice formation.
The rail is powder-coated aluminium — it will not rust, even in the salt-air coastal conditions found along the New Jersey shore.
Seat upholstery, armrests, and trim are manufactured from UV-resistant materials that will not crack, fade, or degrade after years of direct sunlight exposure.
The footrest and seat surfaces are textured for grip in wet conditions. Safety sensors stop the lift automatically if an obstruction is detected — even a wet leaf on the rail.
We supply and fit a retractable cover that protects the seat and controls when the lift is parked and not in use — highly recommended for extended outdoor exposure.
Typical Outdoor Staircase Configurations
Our lifts fit a wide range of exterior staircases. Here are the most common setups we encounter across PA and NJ.
The most common configuration. Typically 3–8 steps leading from the pavement to the front door. The rail is fitted neatly alongside the steps without blocking the staircase for other household members.
Rear deck stairs give access to gardens and outdoor entertaining areas. We fit the rail alongside the existing steps, preserving full use of the deck and garden space.
Steps between the garage and the main living level are often overlooked but can be a significant barrier. We install compact outdoor lifts in this semi-sheltered environment.
Sloped gardens often have built-in step sections or terracing. A well-fitted outdoor lift restores access to lower garden areas, vegetable patches, and outbuildings.
Many older homes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey have raised side or rear entry steps. We regularly install compact outdoor units in these narrower, partially enclosed spaces.
We also install outdoor lifts on shared entryways in duplexes, small apartment buildings, and commercial properties. Contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Yes. Our outdoor units are rated to IP55 or higher, meaning they are fully protected against water jets from any direction. All motors, controls, and wiring are sealed against rain, sleet, and snow. We also recommend a retractable cover for added protection when the lift is not in use.
-
Yes. Our outdoor units are engineered to operate reliably in temperatures from -4°F to 104°F. All components are tested for cold-weather performance. Optional heated seat and armrest covers are available for extra comfort during the colder months.
-
A cover is not required but is strongly recommended. When parked and not in use, a retractable or fitted cover protects the seat and controls from UV damage and prolonged moisture exposure. We supply and fit covers as part of the installation.
-
No. The rail is manufactured from powder-coated aluminium specifically chosen for outdoor use. Aluminium does not rust. The coating also protects against UV fading and salt-air corrosion, which is particularly important in coastal areas of New Jersey.

We install on front porch steps, rear deck stairs, garden and landscape staircases, garage entry steps, and side-entry steps. The staircase should be straight and at least 28 inches wide. Our specialist will assess your specific configuration during your free home visit.
-
Yes — significantly. Outdoor units use weather-sealed electronics, corrosion-resistant materials, non-slip surfaces designed for wet conditions, and UV-stable components. An indoor lift should never be used outdoors. Always specify an outdoor-rated model, and always have it installed by a certified technician.
